Cavity Fillings: What to Expect, Types & Potential Problems_Gangnam Dental Clinic

Cavity Fillings: What to Expect, Types & Potential Problems

The process of filling cavities is a fairly simple and straightforward one that can be done right at Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic. Filling Cavities: What to Expect

You should expect to be at your dentist's office for around an hour. This gives him or her enough time to take x-rays if needed, talk to you about the procedure and complete the dental work. Before filling cavities, your dentist will numb your teeth, gums and surrounding skin to avoid and lessen discomfort during the procedure. Next, he or she will drill out the decay in the tooth and replace it with a filling. This process only takes a few minutes.

Once you're done, your mouth will probably remain numb for a few more hours. There aren’t any significant risks associated with filling cavities, but be sure to keep your dentist’s contact information on hand in case you have any questions or complications.

The most common use of tooth fillings is to fill a cavity in the tooth. But tooth fillings also can be used to repair damage to teeth caused by teeth grinding (bruxism) or to replace part of a broken tooth.

Types of Cavity Fillings

Many options are available for tooth fillings, and all of them have their pros and cons. Types of tooth fillings include gold, silver amalgam (a composite of mercury, silver, and other metals), tooth-colored composite material, porcelain, and a special type of glass. The best tooth fillings for you will depend on cost, what your insurance may cover, and your aesthetic preferences.

There is a wide variety of materials used for filling cavities and they vary in strength and color. The two most common types are amalgam and composite.

Taking Care of Cavity Fillings

You may experience some sensitivity and pain after receiving tooth fillings, but this discomfort should subside. Don't neglect your oral care routine. Instead, try products designed specifically to protect sensitive teeth.

When to Replace a Cavity Filling

Tooth fillings usually last for many years before they need to be replaced. But tooth fillings can wear out over years of chewing. If you clench or grind your teeth, you may need to have tooth fillings replaced sooner.

If you notice signs of wear on your tooth fillings, such as cracks or worn areas, see your dentist to have the filling replaced as soon as possible. Continuing to chew with a damaged filling can cause the tooth to crack and require additional repair that is more expensive and more complicated than a simple cavity filling. If additional tooth decay develops around a filling, whether or not the filling is damaged, your dentist may choose to repair the tooth with a crown instead of a second cavity filling.

How can I find good dental clinic in Seoul Gangnam_Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic

Dental Care in Korea is generally of a high standard. General dentistry, orthodontics as well as oral surgery are all available. Many dentists have studied abroad and speak English.

1. The cost of dental care in Korea is generally very affordable, especially compared to many of our home countries. Foreign residents, who have National Health Insurance Coverage, will find the costs even lower since many of the basic procedures are covered by the NHI.

2. Patients with National Health Insurance Coverage are required to sign a form authorizing the dentist to release information on the date of the patient's teeth cleaning/scaling. This is a requirement by NHIS as there is a limit of the number of teeth cleanings allowed in a given year. Patients will be asked to sign the form at their yearly teeth cleaning.

3. The majority of dental clinics will have cutting-edge or near cutting-edge equipment – you can pretty much expect lots of technology.

4. Not all dental clinics have private treatment rooms. In some there may be 3-4 chairs in the same room – all occupied. If there is one dentist, s/he may move from one patient to the other. That said, most of the clinics that cater to foreign patients, do have private or semi-private treatment rooms.

5. Most offices/clinics are very much up to international sanitation/sterilization standards.

Finding a dentist, you can trust can be a challenge. But try to search about Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic and visit us. It will be good to know about 1 dental clinic in Korea : )

Everything You Need to Know About Getting a Dental Crown_Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic at Gangnam

A crown is basically a cap for a damaged tooth. It can be made from a variety of materials, including metal or porcelain.

You might have a crown over a molar that rarely shows, except when you yawn widely, or you might have crowns on your front teeth that were specifically designed to match your other teeth.

Several factors are important to consider when choosing a crown, including:

-      Cost

-      Strength

-      Durability

A natural appearance that doesn’t detract from your smile may also be a priority for you. A Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic dentist can discuss the various options and help you to figure out what best meets your need.

Types of dental crowns

Different kinds of materials can be used in crowns, including:

-      Porcelain

-      Ceramic

-      Zirconia

-      Metal

     -   Composite resin

For example, you could have a porcelain crown that’s fused to metal, as opposed to an all-porcelain crown.

When selecting the material for your crown, your dentist will consider factors such as:

-      your tooth’s location

-      how much of the tooth will show when you smile

-      position of your gum tissue

-      function of the tooth that needs the crown

-      how much natural tooth is remaining

-      color of the surrounding teeth

You can also talk with your dentist about your personal preference. If you don’t already have a dentist, the Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic can help you find one in your.

Invisalign Disadvantages? Than should I NOT get it?_Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic Gangnam Seoul

There are several disadvantages of invisalign that you need to consider:

When you visit Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic dentist will consult you much detail.

Patients Need to be Disciplined

Being able to remove your aligners is both a pro and a con. If you arent someone who is disciplined about putting your aligners back in your mouth after eating or brushing, you arent going to wear them the required 22 hours per day. Your treatment may not produce the best results if the aligners arent worn as long. The major reason for Invisalign treatment failing primarily relates to lack of patient compliance with wearing the aligners.

Taking your Aligners In and Out Can be Inconvenient

Aligners need to be removed before eating and drinking anything other than water. When you are out in public, you need to remove your aligners discreetly and not lose them. Before replacing your aligners, you need to brush your teeth. Food particles can stop your teeth from moving and can stain your aligners. You are also at increased risk of cavities and bad breath.

Cost

We are often asked is it cheaper to get braces of Invisalign? Due to advances in the 3D scanning technology and the flexible material involved in making the aligners, the cost of Invisalign can be similar to braces. Depending on the specific problem, some treatment is difficult if not impossible to achieve with Invisalign alone so your Orthodontist may discuss the possibility of finalising tooth positions with braces which could result in a more expensive treatment.

Lingual (inside) braces are often compared to Invisalign because they both offer an almost invisible appearance. Like Invisalign, lingual braces are a fully custom option so they are more expensive than traditional braces.

Invisalign Effectiveness vs Braces

Invisalign is not always the best treatment method. Its typically not recommended for more complex orthodontic cases. Before deciding on which treatment you should use, ask your orthodontist if you can expect the same result from all methods. This will allow you to make an informed decision on which type of treatment is right for you. An experienced and ethical orthodontist will advise you on the best treatment options for your own specific situation.

Am I suitable for invisalign braces (Pro) _ Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic Gangnam.

Its a difficult decision, you want to straighten your teeth but cant decide which way to go when weighing the pros and cons of braces vs Invisalign.

You should do your research, ask questions and - with the help of your orthodontist - make an informed decision. The type of orthodontic treatment that is suitable for you also depends on the type of orthodontic problem you need to have corrected -

Invisalign isnt always the best option for some patients which is why getting expert advice from your Orthodontist is essential at Yonsei Uline Dental Clinic.

Braces are traditionally made of metal and attached to the outside of the teeth, although there are now different options for braces including ceramic and lingual (behind the teeth) braces. Metal wires and rubber bands are attached to the brackets to manipulate your teeth to correct orthodontic problems. Invisalign treatment uses clear, plastic aligners. The aligners are customized for each patient by making a 3d scan of their mouth. Customized aligners are then made to move the teeth in small steps until the correct position is reached.

The Advantages of Invisalign

Here are some of the advantages of Invisalign:

Invisalign Looks Better

The biggest benefit of Invisalign is that the retainers are virtually invisible. Adult patients love that colleagues and clients cant see they are undergoing orthodontic treatment. Self-conscious teens do too.

With Invisalign you dont go through a period of people commenting on your new braces. You wont be worried about your smile in photos - all you will see in photos is the progress of your ever-improving smile.

You Can Take the Aligners Out to Eat

Patients often ask us do you have to wear Invisalign all the time? For best results Invisalign needs to be worn for 20 - 22 hours each day, which means you can take your aligners out when you are eating. This means you dont have to change what you eat or how you eat it. With braces people find some types of foods difficult or uncomfortable to eat.

Its Easier to Brush and Floss Your Teeth

As well as when eating and drinking, youll also remove your Invisalign retainers to brush your teeth. With nothing on your teeth to worry about, you can continue brushing and flossing as you did previously.

Fewer Consultations Required

With Invisalign, much of the orthodontists work happens before you wear your aligners. A 3D scan of your teeth is used for making all the customised retainers in a laboratory. You should change the multiple sets of retainers on your orthodontists directions. There is no need to visit the orthodontics for adjustments so visits are kept to a minimum to check on progress. Few visits to the orthodontist means less time off work.

Comfortable to Wear

You may be wondering are braces or invisalign more painful? Moving teeth around with Invisalign can be uncomfortable and painful, much like traditional braces. However, there are also fewer mouth and gum problems with Invisalign. Invisalign retainers are made of a special plastic and fitted to each patients mouth, so - unlike braces - there are typically no cuts on the inside cheeks or salt washes to deal with.
